Material:

  • Lightweight fabric such as cotton, poplin, or viscose

  • Matching thread

  • Fusible interfacing

  • 6 buttons

  • Sewing pattern pieces (provided in PDF)

Preparation:

  1. Cut out all the pieces following the layout and your selected size.

  2. Transfer all notches and markings.

  3. Apply interfacing to the neckline facing and front facings.

Step-by-Step Sewing Instructions:

1. Shoulders:

  • Place the front and back bodices right sides together.

  • Stitch the shoulder seams.

  • Finish the raw edges with a serger or zigzag stitch and press the seams toward the back.

2. Side Seams:

  • With right sides together, sew the side seams.

  • Finish the edges and press.

3. Ruffle:

  • Finish one long edge of the ruffle with a narrow hem or overlock stitch.

  • Sew gathering stitches along the opposite edge.

  • Pull threads to gather and pin it along the front edge of the bodice (as indicated by the markings).

  • Baste in place.

4. Facings:

  • Sew the front facings to the neckline facing at the shoulders.
